Trichinella:
- Roundworm causing Trichinosis
- Live and mate in host's intestine
- Females with fertilized eggs burrow into the intestinal wall and release larvae
- Larvae travel through blood stream and burrow into organs and tissues
- Causes severe pain for host
Ascarid:
- Absorb nutrients in host's intestine
- Produce large numbers of fertilized eggs which leave body in feces
- Can cause severe malnutrition
- Hook and burrow into host's skin and enter bloodstream
- Travel through bloodstream to lungs and intestines
- Suck host's blood causing weakness and poor growth
